It has been over 300 years since the ballet in Russia has become a part of national culture, our pride and a worldwide brand. We regard ballet not simply as a skillful dance, but also as something sublime, eternal that touches heart and soul, allows to share and connect with eternal values of beauty and goodness. From an early age, we are tough to appreciate "The Nutcracker", "The Swan lake", "The Snow queen", the ballet in Russia has become an integral part of every educated person’s life along with poetry by Pushkin, Tyutchev, Gumilev; Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky's music; Vasnetsov, Borovikovsky, Levitsky's paintings.
What is it that makes ballet touch the strings of our heart and evoke wonderful feelings of affection, pleasure, sympathy, beauty and eternal love? As a poem or a rhapsody is capable of carrying our mind back through centuries, the dance can do the same, and helps realize that the same values were appreciated then and still exist today. Without these values it’s impossible for an individual to lid a happy life, the same principle applies to the society at large.
